Marin Humane Society Gala Celebration

Being an animal lover, and lifelong pet owner, I have always been an advocate for animal adoption. It wasn't until the topic came up with my uncle, Sheriff of Chambers County, located outside of Houston, that I realized the importance of shelters. He told me that their county does not have one, and any animals that are found are kept for a couple days at the police station, until they are either claimed, or more likely euthanized. Having grown up in Marin, with so much animal rescue support, I was shocked as this seemed completely absurd and unethical. I couldn't seem to let go of the idea that those animals were not given a chance to thrive like they are here.
Luckily, we are not in the same unfortunate situation, and have an incredible shelter in Marin who gives animals the loving homes they deserve. However, The Marin Humane Society needs the support of the community to keeps its doors open, and this weekend at the 10th annual fundraising gala is a great way to give back. A gourmet three-course meal, live auction, and stories about the lives, both human and not, that have been changed by the Humane Society are just some of the features for the fun night. End the night on the dance floor busting your best moves.
