At Item Shoes in Larkspur, owner Joy Goldberg and Jennifer Wilson of Merrill Lynch teamed up for their first annual fundraiser for Wardrobe for Opportunity, which provides professional clothing to low-income job seekers.

Downtown, fashionistas were out for the Barney's store grand opening in San Francisco, which also doubled as a benefit for the Nick Traina Foundation.

The St. Vincent's School was the place for gourmands to try local organic food at the Taste of Marin. The event is dedicated to supporting and promoting Marin's agricultural bounty. Marin chefs were on hand, presenting delicious creations from food grown and produced in Marin. The event brought local farmers, ranchers, cheesemakers and vintners together for an unforgettable showcase.

At Macy's West's Annual Passport event, which focuses on raising awareness and money for HIV and AIDS organizations, guests were treated to performances by Dita Von Teese and the Spirit of Uganda African dance troupe, which teamed up with celebrity choreographer Brian Friedman for an unforgettable dance segment.

Chef Roland Passot was on hand for the "Farmland Forever" event, a benefit for Marin Agricultural Land Trust at Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur. One hundred and fifty diners enjoyed a six-course meal accompanied by Marin County wines and an auction presided over by Mark Buell.

The Marin Art & Garden Center's gala "Under the Magic Sun" was an eye-opening event, featuring a self-guided tour of the group's grounds, highlighting activities such as children's field trips, theatre, music, art, garden education and more. All proceeds from the event benefit preservation and upgrades to the building and grounds. Honorary chairs for the gala were John and Maria Pitcairn of Ross.
