In Novato NH2 Salon held an "Evening of Beauty" benefit for local breast cancer patients and survivors. Novato Mayor Jeanne MacLeamy and representatives from Bumble and Bumble were in attendance.

In San Francisco, the preview party for the San Francisco Antiques Show was a fundraising success and supports honorary chair Nancy Pelosi's Enterprise for High School Students. The organization provides job referral services to students.

At Anthropologie in Corte Madera guests indulged in a night of eating, drinking, socializing and shopping, with a special sneak peek at the must-have pieces for the holiday season. Ten percent of the evening's proceeds were donated to Zero Breast Cancer.

Once again, the Village at Corte Madera was the place for Search for the Cause's annual "Under the Harvest Moon" benefit. The event featured local organic food and wine, vocalist Whitney Hood and host Sarah Clarke from Alice Radio.

In San Anselmo Robin Wright Penn hosted an event for the EcoMom Alliance at the green living showroom of Green Fusion Design Center. The nonprofit inspires and empowers mothers to help create an environmentally, socially and economically prosperous and healthy future for all.

At the St. Regis Hotel Nick Clooney hosted this year's International Rescue Committee Bay Area dinner, which featured the presentation of the Sarlo Foundation Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award. Proceeds from the event go toward the IRC's work of serving refugees in 25 countries worldwide and in 22 cities across America.

In Corte Madera chef and Food Network personality Michael Chiarello opened his NapaStyle store. Located in Town Center Corte Madera, the 3,500-square-foot store showcases the NapaStyle collection of specialty foods, cookware and home furnishings.

Celebrities and Marinites headed to the Outdoor Art Club for the pre-opening party of the Mill Valley Film Festival. Both Ang Lee (Lust, Caution) and Laura Linney (Savages) had films premiering on opening night and were on hand to celebrate the festival's 30th year.

At Mill Valley's Cabana Home, filmgoers celebrated the Marin Magazine sponsored flick Rails and Ties, which also premiered on opening night of the festival, with an evening of wine and hors d'oeuvres from All Seasons Catering.
