Aircraft Casualty Emotional Support Services (ACCESS)

Heidi Snow Cinader, founder and director of the Aircraft Casualty Emotional Support Services (ACCESS), and cochair, Rachel Courtney-Reilly hosted the Sixth Annual ACCESS Hearts, Clubs and Aces golf tournament at Novato’s StoneTree Golf Club. The group raised over $180,000, which will support the training of additional volunteer grief mentors who provide bereavement care to the families who have been affected by 9/11 and other air-disaster-related tragedies.

Restoration Hardware Gallery Opening

At the Restoration Hardware Gallery Opening local interior designers and design district neighbors gathered to celebrate the opening of the brands’ newest store in the San Francisco Design District. The event benefited the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s exhibition and education programs.

C. Z. Falconer's Launch Party

New luxury loungewear brand C. Z. Falconer's launch party drew Marinites to San Francisco’s Luna Boutique. The line hopes to showcase "European jet set sophistication with California poolside glamour."

2010 Spirit of Marin Awards

At the 2010 Spirit of Marin awards hosted by the Bank of Marin, local volunteers were recognized for their outstanding service. Honorees included Mark Fishkin, Zoe Elton, Will Rigney, Frank Egger, Bill Thomas and others. For a full list of honorees see the Bank of Marin website.

Levi's New Curve ID jeans

Locals, including Alice Radio's Sarah Clarke, showed up for a good cause, donating items to the Goodwill and enhancing their wardrobe with consultations with celebrity stylist Bobbie Thomas at the Levi's Store to celebrate the brand's new Curve ID jeans. Guests were also treated to a concert by actress Zooey Deschanel and her band She & Him.

Casa Allegra Community Service

Casa Allegra Community Service celebrated its 35th year of helping people in Marin with developmental disabilities. Five recognition awards to various Marin groups were announced, and guests buzzed over the debut of the professional photos by Casa Allegra participants.

Bank of Marin's New Corte Madera branch

Bank of Marin recently celebrated the opening of their new Corte Madera branch. The event was a commemoration of their new move from their site of 20 years to a new location at 504 Tamalpais Drive.

United Way's Week of Caring

As part of United Way's Week of Caring, employees and friends of Bregante+Company spent the day volunteering at Slide Ranch. Participants pulled invasive weeds, dug plant beds, composted vegetables and even planted new crop for next season.

Kiehl's and AIDS Research

This summer, Kiehl's, a skin and hair care company, celebrated its long-time partnership with amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research. At the San Francisco event Kiehl's donated $85,000 towards AIDS research and also unveiled its latest product, the limited edition Ultra Facial Moisturizer. All profits will benefit amfAR.

San Francisco Symphony's 99th Season Opening

Locals celebrated at the San Francisco Symphony's 99th season opening with a program featuring soprano Jessye Norman performing songs by Duke Ellington. After the concert guests enjoyed after parties in City Hall and the Tent Pavillion.

AHO's Fifth Anniversary

AHO recently celebrated its fifth anniversary with an Open House Benefit to launch its Drop In Center for Youth. Guests enjoyed a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new center and noshed on appetizers provided by Frantoio and P.F. Chang's.

Guide Dogs for the Blind Annual Fun Day

Guide Dogs for the Blind held its annual fun day, which celebrates the hundreds of volunteers who help raise guide dog puppies in preparation for their formal guide work training. Volunteers, staff and 500 dogs and puppies attended the event on the nonprofit campus.

Studiolo

Professional stylist Stephanie Lange appeared at San Anselmo’s new home and garden store Studiolo, for an event meant to empower women to look and feel their best. Taking inspiration from the unique Studiolo products, the event focused on helping women develop their own personal style.

Mysterious Wines of Italy

Cin Cin to Italian wine. Tiburon Italian wine bar, Prima Palate, recently hosted its Mysterious Wines of Italy event. Five wines from Allegrini were the spotlight, while mezzo-soprano singer, Meghan Schielbel entertained with five arias.

2010 MarinScapes Art Exhibit

The opening-night gala for the MarinScapes Art Exhibit was held at Escalle Winery in Larkspur, where guests dined under the stars with a Tuscan theme. The exhibit featured works rendering Marin's landscapes by more than 60 artists.

ArtWorks Downtown

San Rafael’s ArtWorks Downtown held the opening reception of artists Phyllis Thelen’s and Barbara Andino-Stevenson’s collaborative exhibit, Realm of Dreams.

Sausalito Film Festival

Marin Magazine, Main Street Research and Saks Fifth Avenue teamed up for a private screening of The Tillman Story and a cocktail party at the second annual Sausalito Film Festival. The event, held at Cavallo Point, also celebrated the launch of The Marin Store’s wine club.

First Look at Chance

Julia Leach a former creative director at Kate Spade, debuted her new fashion brand Chance at San Francisco’s Terrior. Guests enjoyed browsing the trunk show and sipping Terrior’s wines.

100th Dipsea Race

The Dipsea Race Foundation honored the 100th running of the famed Dipsea Race with a dinner program attended by a number of dignitaries at the Mill Valley Community Center. The Dipsea Trail was recently listed in the National Register of Historic Places in August.

Zero Breast Cancer

This spring, Zero Breast Cancer hosted its 11th annual Honor Thy Healer breast cancer awards program at the Mill Valley Community Center. All proceeds will support ZBC's research and education programs.

Kapalua Food and Wine Festival in Hawaii

At the recent Kapalua Food and Wine Festival in Hawaii, locals Elizabeth and Branton Cole flew to Maui for a quick weekend getaway to enjoy the festival's Grand Seafood Tasting at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. The event featured food from the area's top restaurants, including Banyan Tree, Kai Sushi Bar, Merriman's Kapalua and the Plantation House Restaurant, along with wine tastings from around the world. The four-day culinary festival, which includes celebrity chefs and America's top sommeliers, celebrates its 30th anniversary next June.

Legal Aid of Marin's Annual Dinner Dance

250 guests attended the Legal Aid of Marin's annual dinner dance to launch the Marin Justice League and honor several generous citizens. The gala took place at the Mill Valley Community center, where guests posed with life-size Batman and Superman mannequins.

Marin Humane Society Fundraiser

More than 260 people attended More Than Just Puppy Love at the Mill Valley Community Center. The Marin Humane Society fundraiser’s highlight was a fashion show featuring Gene Hiller and Lindisima designs, where shelter animals accompanied models down the runway.
